The Idaho Wrestling Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Preston, Idaho. We exist to keep kids on the mat — especially during the critical junior high years when participation often drops off.
Across the country, young athletes drift away from wrestling during junior high. The costs add up — tournament entries, equipment, travel — and families quietly step back. By the time high school rolls around, the pipeline of experienced wrestlers has thinned out. We believe the solution isn't more fundraisers or fee waivers. It's a model built on shared commitment.
Families pay a commitment deposit at the start of each season. Athletes earn that deposit back by meeting attendance and competition standards. The foundation covers everything else — equipment, entry fees, and program costs. This isn't charity. It's a partnership. The deposit is a shared commitment between the family and the foundation: we invest in your athlete, and your athlete commits to showing up and doing the work.
The Idaho Wrestling Foundation is led by a volunteer board of directors committed to the wrestling community in Preston, Idaho. Board member details will be published here soon.
